Ozioma Okafor is a poet and storyteller based in Lagos, Nigeria. She loves to refer to her poems, which usually carry a message of hope, encouragement, and reassurance, as 'her heart in words' because of how vulnerable and real they are. As one who deals with anxiety, overthinking, and insecurities, she hopes to connect with others who can relate to these struggles and be a voice of encouragement to them, reminding them they are not alone.
She fell in love with the literary world when she read Chimamanda’s Purple Hibiscus as a 12-year-old. Before this, she had never read a book she could relate to so well. She showcases her poems and stories on Instagram and Medium, where she is most active. Her poems “Colour” and “Lo, I am with you always” have been published on www.penastory.wordpress.com. She is currently working on an anthology and hopes to someday be the author of a bestselling poetry collection and novel. When she is not at her 9 to 5 job where she works as an auditor or in her room writing, you can find her reading a book, watching Netflix, or having great conversations with friends. |
