
Umar Salman is a budding writer with interest in expository writing, poems and prose. His writings have focused on socioeconomic and political issues. His objective of writing is to educate, inform and sanitize with facts about social issues.
He has won many writing awards such as First Prize Winner of Greatest Scribe Essay Competition, 2016 by Peace Institute of Language Studies and Winner of Remi Aworemi Foundation Essay Competition 2018. He plans to have a compendium of his expository writing in newsletters, magazines and online website for a broader scope of audience.
His favourite book is 'Things Fall Apart', and he admires some great writers like Chinua Achebe, Chimamanda Adichie, and Fisayo Soyombo. His hobbies are reading, writing, teaching and publicity. He finds computer MS office packages and Corel Draw interesting.
Umar is a graduate of the University of Ibadan where he studied Special Education/English. His is passionate about issues of youths and humanity. He has an excellent moral and spiritual life.
